What a joy to learn, this Monday, that Canal Vie had the good idea to team up with Marie-Claude Barrette for a new show.

Since the stormy end of her morning talk show on TVA, Marie-Claude Barrette had not had another TV mandate and focused instead on her wonderful podcast Open your gamewhere she demonstrates day after day her formidable skills in discussion and confidence.

Her new project is called Like Mother, Like Daughter, and will be presented on Canal Vie in 2025.

Like mother, like daughter, it’s the Quebec adaptation of Like Mother, Like Daughter? Filming will begin this fall, following an agreement negotiated with Banijay Rights, the global distribution division of Banijay Entertainment. This is also the first adaptation of the series outside the United States.

The series focuses on five mother-daughter duos who undertake to repair their broken relationships in this human experience, supervised by Marie-Claude Barette and an experienced psychologist. Women will participate in eye-opening individual and group sessions and activities aimed at bringing their differences and similarities to light in order to move forward positively in a better relationship.

The first season, directed by Jean-Philippe Pariseau and produced by Trio Orange in collaboration with Bell Media, will include 10 30-minute episodes.
