David Douillet (55 years old): the former judoka sold his house

Where does David Douillet live?

When we talk about judo in France, the name of Teddy Riner inevitably comes up first. But a few decades ago, it was David Douillet’s song that we were chanting. Aged 55 and retired from tatami mats for many years, David Douillet still remains a sportsman at heart, although he no longer fights. THE double gold medalist owned a huge family home with his ex-wife Valérie, located in the Paris suburbs. Following their separation, the couple decided to sell their property located in Meulan, in the Yvelines department.

As reported by our colleagues from Purepeopleit was a 680 m² house nestled in the heart of a green area and consisting of “17 rooms including around ten bedrooms, a billiard room and a gymwith a breathtaking view of the Seine valley.” A real cocoon for David Douillet, his wife at the time and his three children (Matteo and Myriam and Jérémie, born from a previous judoka union). In addition, the sportsman could enjoy an indoor swimming pool and exercise as he wished in its one hectare plot.

A house worth its weight in gold

According to information relayed by The Parisianthe owners of this pretty house whose “renovation and roofing” had just been redone and wanted to get rid of it for the sum of 2,625,000 euros. Regarding the departure of the judoka, the mayor at the time, Guy Poirier, shared his opinion and revealed the possibilities “personal convenience” which would have pushed the couple to leave. According to him, David Douillet’s dogs had the habit of walking unsupervised not far from a nursery school in the town.

Nobody knows if David Douillet’s house has found a buyer. What is certain is that the former judoka has rebuilt his life with the charming Vanessa Carrara, whom he married in 2017 and that the couple became parents of a little girl named Blanche. In 2022, David Douillet participated in the tele-hook Dance with the stars. If he did not win the game, the fifty-year-old melted hearts by dancing with his wife.

Today, David Douillet lives in Ain, not far from the town of Bourg-en-Brousse, a town where his wife is a municipal councilor. The couple lives with their little daughter Blanche, 7 years old, and very often shares their daily life in photos on the social network Instagram.

Indeed, according to the magazine GalaDavid Douillet would now be… real estate developer! “Since 2018, David Douillet has been reconverted into a real estate developer and insurer. He is a partner in the Harvey Group, which builds furnished housing for mobile workers,” can we read. A reconversion that can be described as astonishing for a former Olympic medalist.
