Although he left us 6 and a half years ago, Johnny Hallyday continues to liven up the daily lives of many of his fans, who remain loyal to him and who continue to buy his songs which come out here and there. In the media space, David Hallyday and Laura Smet also keep the memory of their father alive, even if it means remembering some difficult memories.

It was on December 5, 2017 that the unthinkable happened. Johnny Hallyday had in fact so accustomed the French to cheating death, to pushing the limits and to living in excess while always getting away with it, that we almost ended up believing him to be immortal. However, it was on this day that the “Taulier” took his last breath, struck down by lung cancer against which he fought valiantly.

If his death unfortunately launched the famous soap opera of the inheritance and the tearing of the clan, it is above all the good memories which prevail today. In this regard, David Hallyday, Laura Smet and Laeticia Hallyday never miss an opportunity to highlight the interpreter of “Que je t’aime”, even if they happen, here and there, to address more intimate. The proof with Laura’s last interview.

Laura Smet’s intimate revelations about Johnny Hallyday

In the podcast “The Life of Nelly”, the forty-year-old actually answered a question from her hostess who asked her “how Johnny was dressed when he left”. With a major revelation:

He was dressed in a suit, he was very handsome. I’ll tell you something, I’ve never seen a dead person before. When I got home I said to myself: “But he’s not my father, he’s much smaller”. His soul was so big… But there, I saw a body that was much smaller than my father.

Obviously moved by thinking about this moment, as well as this important particularity also raised by Philippe Labro, Laura Smet above all felt that her father had left in peace:

You could see that he hadn’t suffered, his face wasn’t tense at all. He was very handsome, very elegant, with his hair as usual, but his body much smaller because my father’s soul was immense.

Regardless, the death of “Taulier” remains a huge upheaval for the actress, so much so that she has no longer been able to see and experience Paris in the same way since the fateful day. In any case, this is what she confided to the microphone of “Echos” a few months ago:

I have a house in the South-West, I am lucky to be able to leave as soon as I can with my little family, it’s a huge luxury. Since my father died, I no longer like Paris, I don’t know why, this city makes me sad. Which is not the case when I’m facing the sea.

Weakened by several months of struggle, Johnny Hallyday was obviously no longer the same when he took his last breath at the end of 2017. Laura Smet was not, however, traumatized, she who saw a peaceful, serene Johnny, which is obviously the main thing. Because beyond his body alone, the legend of the rocker continues to endure, and will continue for a long time.
