Canadian billionaire Frank Stronach is accused of committing sexual crimes against three women. These crimes allegedly took place in 1980, 1986 and 2023.

The charges were laid by police in Peel Region, a suburb of Toronto, last week. However, court documents reveal new details about the accusations in question.

The 91-year-old Aurora man – who is also the founder of Magna International – is accused of:

  • rape and indecent assault in July 1980 against a woman;

  • sexual assault and kidnapping of another woman in February 1986;

  • sexual assault of a third woman in April 2023.

The police had already clarified that some of the charges were brought under the Criminal Code in force at the time of the alleged facts. Thus, Frank Stronach is notably accused of rape and indecent assault against a female person, offenses which are no longer part of the most recent version of the Criminal Code.

The new details are part of public documents obtained from the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The two alleged crimes dating from the 1980s are listed as having occurred in Toronto or elsewhere in Ontario. The 2023 sexual assault is believed to have taken place in Aurora or elsewhere in Ontario.

Frank Stronach was ordered to surrender all passports, notify police of any change of address and have no contact with the three alleged victims.

In 2018, Frank Stronach founded Stronach International, a company focused on organic farming and zero-emission transportation. Stronach International did not respond to a request for comment about the accusations.

Frank Stronach is a member of the Order of Canada and the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. He holds several honorary degrees awarded by educational institutions in Canada and abroad.
