This May 23, Maxime Switek was the guest of Buzz TV at Le Figaro. The opportunity for the host to make behind-the-scenes revelations about his participation in Fort Boyard in 2018. An experience from which he did not emerge unscathed… and neither did Patrick Cohen.

A historic program in the French audiovisual landscape, Fort Boyard has seen many celebrities parade over the years. If some win the tests with flying colors, for others,
it’s more complicated. Maxime Switek, in particular, remembers his eventful participation in 2018 with the C à Vous team.

I’ve never had so much fun on set, but
I’ve never had so much pain
”, launches the journalist in Buzz TV. And for good reason, Maxime Switek broke his toe during the first event. “I went to see the doctor on the Fort, he said to me: ‘Anyway, there’s nothing we can do about the toe, so here’s some painkiller and have a good day!’ I spent the whole day like that with a broken toe. We leave the Fort, we return to Paris in a minibus, arriving at a highway rest area, I could no longer walk”, says the host.

And the latter is not the only one to have been shaken, since

Patrick Cohen
paid the price for the somewhat unusual cuisine of Willy Rovelli, the Fort’s chef. “He made us eat shrimp paste (…) It’s vile to eat,
Patrick Cohen vomited
”, balances Maxime Switek. It was precisely these little disappointments that made the filming so entertaining, as the journalist explains.

I remember fits of laughter that we had with Babeth when we saw Abdel Alaoui who was on the kind of thing that is in the water and which throws you (a flyboard, editor’s note), he couldn’t do it! He got buckets of water in his face and we collapsed laughing.” One person’s misfortune is another’s happiness, they say.
