It is an odyssey in a sad impasse, an exploration of the ridiculous. For the first exhibition of advertising artist Christophe Caubel, put aside photography as a “writing of light” or other “eighth art” nonsense. Lovers of beautiful landscapes, polished portraits, and virtuoso technique, go your way. In , it is more about the end of the game and melancholy. On the walls of the Lumière des roses gallery, we follow fragments of disjointed reality, and we go from the rooster to the donkey, or rather from a rusty Christ on the cross, fallen to the ground – be careful not to step on it – to a rib beef on stormy sky. The eye slides from a guy with unsightly tan lines to a piece of banana abandoned on the corner of the table… Everything goes to hell…

It’s the death of everything

Besides, in Christophe Caubel’s eyes, the party is over. A glittery red Stetson is abandoned in the gutter and a disco ball stored in the Kiloutou box. It is the death of everything, of utopias, of Christianity (we have already said it), of town planning (a building block overlooks a cemetery), of peace (a military truck is covered in garlands Christmas) and even flies (watch out the insect trapped in a too-sweet syrup). Flowers on an electric pole remind us that there are also road accident victims. It’s ridiculous to end up there, in the middle of nowhere! At the bottom of a glass a skull appears.
