Kendji Girac is gradually regaining his strength. On the night of Sunday April 21 to Monday April 22, 2024, the 27-year-old singer was shot in the chest.
The artist allegedly told the police that he had shot himself after wanting to test a weapon purchased the day before in a flea market in La Teste-de-Buche (F). However, this version does not seem to hold water since Dominique, the organizer of the flea market, spoke up.
Questioned by the “Touche pas à mon poste” team on April 24, he declared: “I never met Kendji at the flea market.” He stressed that such an appearance would have attracted a lot of people, particularly children who were fans of the singer, which he would have noticed. He concluded with the same words he began: “Kendji Girac did not come to the flea market, sure and certain!”
Dominique also clarified to BFM TV that the rules of the flea market strictly prohibit the sale of weapons, authorizing only collectible ones. He added that with 70 exhibitors he couldn’t check everything, but he didn’t see any weapons on the stands.
Faced with these revelations, an investigation into attempted intentional homicide was opened. A Source confirmed the shooting took place inside the singer’s trailer. During their hearings, Kendji’s uncle, aunt and wife claimed that he was alone with his wife at the time of the events.
