Taylor Swift is at the peak of her career. With an army of Swifties behind her, the singer travels around the world and easily fills the biggest stadiums on the planet. On May 9, the American artist will begin her European tour in where she will perform six dates. On the program, three hours of show and 44 songs on the clock. To ensure such a show, combining vocal and choreographic performances, the superstar undergoes intense training, worthy of the greatest high-level athletes.

Driven by Kirk Myers, her sports coach for ten years, Taylor Swift follows a sports routine described as “very difficult”, designed especially for her. The star’s trainer explains to US Vogue that they have established two types of training sessions: one specific to when she is on tour, and a second when she is not performing. “It’s tailor-made,” he explains. When she’s not on tour, we’re at the gym up to six days a week, sometimes two hours a day.” The objective is then to work on his cardio and strengthen his abs in order to allow him greater ease in singing and dancing. But even when she’s on tour, the pace doesn’t slow down. “Taylor has been training the whole tour. We trained on average twice a week. Training during the season was more focused on maintenance, so it was more stability, mobility, biomechanics,” the coach explains to the American magazine.

To optimize recovery, Kirk Myers called on Amin Javid DC, a doctor and chiropractor based in Los Angeles, to implement techniques allowing the diva to quickly get back on her feet after her shows. “If you’ve seen the concert, you know how physically intense it is. Imagine doing that three, four days in a row and then finally having a few days off and you’re still there, at the gym. It’s Taylor Swift,” continues the sports coach.

Ready to be recognized as “Taylor Swift’s coach”, claiming that there is no “cooler title than that”, Kirk Myers has also accompanied other international stars in their physical transformation. Hugh Jackman was the first celebrity he coached. Models like Adriana Lima And Kaia Gerber have also placed their trust in him, as have the actor Jacob Elordi, Eva Longoria and Justin Bieber.

A frightening power

Taylor Swift is certainly one of the most divisive personalities. If she is revered by a whole army of Swifties ready to do anything for her, she is also the biggest question mark for a whole part of the pop culture population, hermetic to her music and her success. Something that fans of the artist sometimes have a hard time accepting.

This Friday, April 19, the review paste decided to publish his review of The Tortured Poets Department, the singer’s new album, without the signature of its author. An editor’s note shared on X stated that in 2019, when one of their journalists reviewed the album Lover, he had received several death threats. In order to prevent the phenomenon from happening again, the media preferred not to reveal the identity of its editor. “We care more about the safety of our staff than a name attached to an article,” writes Paste Magazine in his tweet.
