Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal: after the marriage, this other project fell through because of the actor
Descriptive text here

They are one of the emblematic couples of French cinema. Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal, who met in 1991 on the set of the film In the eyes of the world, have been living a beautiful love story for over thirty years. And after years of living together and three children, Ben (27 years old), Alice (22 years old) and Jo (13 years old), the couple decided to get married, in June 2023. A big surprise for Yvan Attal, who didn’t expect his partner to suddenly ask for his hand.

Finally, after months of hesitation, the project was abandoned. The reason for this turnaround? The couple could no longer imagine saying “yes” without the presence of Charlotte’s mother, now deceased. But never two without three! Because after the surprise cancellation of the marriage, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal abandoned another project, as the actress confides in the columns of Madame Figaro.

Yvan Attal says “no” to Charlotte Gainsbourg

In this interview, Jane Birkin’s daughter shared her childhood dream: to live in London. Unfortunately for her, Yvan does not share this desire: “I have the fantasy of going to live in London, but Yvan categorically rejects the idea.”

And if Charlotte Gainsbourg dreams of elsewhere, it’s because she has very beautiful memories of England. Indeed, when she was a child, she regularly went there to see her maternal grandparents: “I liked playing French, whereas here, I like to feel a little foreign. To have an English side.”

Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal, 33 years of love

Charlotte Gainsbourg is currently starring in the comedy We, the Leroys, alongside José Garcia. The actors play two parents who are struggling to overcome a crisis in their relationship. And unlike her character Sandrine, the actress is happy in love.
