Director George Miller, creator of the franchise Mad Maxis writing a new adventure of his cult character set before the events of Fury Road. Tom Hardy should come back.
George Miller isn’t done yet Mad Max. The Australian director announced this Wednesday, May 1 in the columns of Entertainment Weekly magazine, that he was writing a new Mad Max adventure for Tom Hardy which takes place a year before the events recounted in Fury Road.
“When we were preparing Mad Max: Fury Road, we wrote what happened to the character of Max before we found him (in the film),” said George Miller. “We are working on it. We wrote it as a short story and now we have the chance to turn it into a screenplay.”
Mad Max’s past is briefly mentioned at the beginning of Fury Road. The character is assailed by memories and ghosts from his past, including a little girl named Glory. This character, who appears in a comic book derived from the film as well as in a video game set in this universe; could be the focus of this prequel.

George Miller has not given any news about the continuation of Fury Roadwhich is baptized Mad Max: Wasteland. This film should be difficult to put together as Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron have had difficulty working together – and have never hidden their enmities.
A prequel to Fury Road titled Furiosawith Anja Taylor-Joy in the lead role, will be screened on May 15 at the Cannes Film Festival before a theatrical release on May 22 in France. Captured by a horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus, Furiosa will try to find her way home.
