Prince Harry is officially a resident of the United States. In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to leave the royal family. After briefly living in Canada, the couple finally settled in California. A place where they now raise their two children out of sight.
If Prince Harry has been living on American territory for four years now, his move has just been made official. Indeed, documents filed on Monday April 15 after Companies House (the British equivalent of the Business and Companies Register) showed that Prince Harry declared the United States as “new country” of residence.
Prince Harry changed his country of residence on a symbolic date
On the documents revealed by The Sunwe learn that the change was made by Prince Harry asTravalyst administrator. It is a sustainable tourism company founded in 2019 by Archie and Lilibet’s father. Although this update was only recorded on Monday April 15, 2024, it was in fact filed on June 29, 2023.
This is not a innocuous date since it corresponds to the day when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were evicted from Frogmore Cottage, their British residence. “As always with Harry, you can read a lot into his actions. Being evicted from Frogmore Cottage hurt him deeply” explained royal author Phil Dampier.
Meghan Markle’s husband would still be far from reconciliation
After being evicted from his British residence, Prince Harry is said to have decided to turn the page and to formalize his move. According to Phil Dampier, it thus shows “that he accepts that his life will take place in the United States”. A few weeks ago, the 39-year-old even suggested that he had “considered” to ask American citizenship.
These numerous decisions by Prince Harry show that he is moving further away from the royal family every day. Reconciliation with his loved ones therefore seems very far away. However, King Charles III, but also Prince William, would now be ready to make efforts. The monarch is said to have even invited her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren to spend time in the UK. For the moment, this family trip has not yet been made official, however.
