This is sad news shared by Warwick Davis. On Wednesday April 17, the interpreter of Professor Filius Flitwick in Harry Potter expressed himself in a press release released by the BBC. He indicated with great sadness the death of his wife, Samantha Davis, at the age of 53. “His passing left a huge void in our family life. I miss his hugs. She was a unique person, always seeing the sunny side of life, she had a biting sense of humor and always laughed at my bad jokes” he said about it.
For now, The cause of death by Samatha Davis has not been revealed. Her husband, however, revealed that she died on March 24. He also made a point of describing her as his “most trusted confidante and a staunch supporter of all [qu’il] did in [sa] career”.
Warwick Davis met his wife on the set of Willow
It’s 1987, on the set of the film Willow that Warwick Davis had met Samantha. At the time, the young man was 17 years old, but was already known for his role as Ewok Wicket in Star Wars. Samantha, then 16, was an extra and daughter of Peter Burroughs, co-star of Willow.
In 1991, after four years of love, the couple had decided to get married. They then went through the difficult loss of their first two children. In 1997, they finally welcomed their daughter Annabel then in 2003 their son Harrison. In a press release, their two children also wanted to pay tribute to their mother. “Mom is our best friend and we are honored to have received a love like hers” they notably indicated.
Samantha Davis had achondroplasia
Warwick Davis suffers from a form of dwarfism, congenital spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia. For his part, his wife Samantha suffered from another pathology, achondroplasia. It is a bone growth disorder that causes disproportionate dwarfism.
In 2019, the mother had already come close to death. In fact, she had contracted sepsis as she enjoyed a family holiday in a caravan. The deterioration of his state of health had made the actor fear the worst, who then spoke of the hours “the longest of [sa] life”.
