Raphinha’s wife denounced hate messages, including death threats towards their child, after Barça’s victory against Benfica.
Following FC Barcelona’s spectacular victory over Benfica on Tuesday evening, Raphinha was involved in an altercation with opposition players in the tunnel leading to the locker room. This incident sparked a wave of online hatred directed towards his wife. On social networks, she shared hate messages received after the match, where Internet users violently insulted her, calling her in particular: “Brazilian bitch”, “wife of a cheating monkey”, “daughter of a bitch”.
The attacks were not limited to insults, some even threatened to kill the couple’s child, aged only two. Shocked and upset, she denounced these messages online, which led several of the perpetrators of these threats to delete their Instagram accounts. This sad episode once again raises the issue of online violence and hatred towards public figures and their families.
