Monday, the two brothers implicated in the aggression of emergency caregivers from the Pays de Savoie Private Hospital (HPPS), in Annemasse, appeared before the Thonon Criminal Court. While their trial was postponed until February 17the management of the establishment has decided to keep the service closed until further notice, although it was supposed to reopen on January 13, reports “The Dauphiné Libéré”.

The events took place on Wednesday January 8, around 11 p.m., when one of the men presented himself to the Emergency Department for work-related injuries. The situation quickly degenerated when his brother, unhappy with the delays in treatment, attacked the nursing staff. Results of the violence: thirteen victims among hospital staff, twelve of whom received ITTs ranging from one to six days.

“Given the violence of the events, the teams are currently in a state of great emotional and psychological fragility, and are not able to resume their functions in optimal conditions. Consequently, the Emergency Department will remain closed until further notice,” communicated the HPPS.
