Candidates have five days to bring their complaints before the Constitutional Council and the Supreme Court. The final results are expected on January 31.

The provisional results of the coupled elections of December 29, 2024 are known this Saturday, January 11, 2025. They were proclaimed by the president of the National Election Management Agency (ANGE), Ahmet Bartchiret, during a press briefing. The results can be viewed on the ANGE website, which, at the moment, is inaccessible due to the intensity of traffic.

For the legislative elections, the declared results place the Patriotic Salvation Movement, the presidential party, in the lead. It is followed by the National Rally of Chadian Democrats (RNDT-Le Réveil), the National Union for Development and Renewal (UNDR), the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), the Party for Liberties and Democracy (PLD) and the Peace and Social Cohesion Party (PCS).

Of the 184 political parties that presented candidates in the legislative elections, only 38 won seats.

The participation rate for the legislative and provincial elections is 51.56%; that of the municipal ones of 50.41%.

According to the president of the electoral agency, “ These moderate participation rates reflect voters’ engagement with current political issues. »

However, these elections were boycotted by Les Transformateurs of the former prime minister of the transition, Succès Masra, and the Consultation Group of Political Actors (GCAP) considered to be heavyweights of the opposition.

The coupled elections of December 29, 2024 mark the last stage of the political transition begun with the death of President Idriss Déby Itno in April 2021. They will allow the establishment of the National Assembly, the Senate, municipal councils and provincial Assemblies .
