A 35-year-old Virginia man was arrested Wednesday for trying to set his vehicle on fire near the Capitol as President-elect Donald Trump prepared to pay his respects at the casket of former President Jimmy Carter.

The police were alerted around 5:30 p.m. to this incident which occurred in front of the Ulysses S. Grant memorial when the suspect allegedly set fire to a bag placed on his vehicle, according to what the “New York Post” reported.

Capitol Police officers rushed to subdue the 30-year-old before inspecting his vehicle to determine that he did not pose a danger, but the motive for the suspect’s action has not been determined.

Initially, the 35-year-old man was spotted in his car by a Capitol employee to whom he allegedly indicated that he had “napalm” and that he was trying to “set it on fire,” according to the “Daily Wire” cited by the “Post”.
