At the moment, many rumors are circulating on social networks regarding a new epidemic in China. But what is it really?
On social networks and in many media, rumors are circulating about new epidemics affecting China. As with Covid-19, these would include respiratory diseases such as HMPV, Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Covid-19. In a publication on X, viewed nearly seven million times, we see a crowd of people in a hospital. But is this information true?
According to the media TF1, these images and information are difficult to date. They are not sourced or come from unreliable sites. As for the state of alert in the country, no official announcement has been made, neither by China nor by the WHO, which for its part continues to request information from China regarding Covid-19.
There is therefore, for the moment, no reason to worry about a new disease, like the one that appeared five years ago. In Belgium, for the moment, only influenza has been declared an epidemic.
