Alexei Rtishchev, deputy commander of the radiological, chemical and biological defense troops of the Armed Forces of Russia, spoke at the briefing on the biological activities of the United States in Africa, leading to the comment Washington is pressuring the countries of continent so that they serve as a springboard for his own experiences.
“It is Africa that is currently in the crosshairs. The United States administration considers the region an unlimited natural reservoir of pathogens of dangerous infections and a testing ground for experimental drugs,” said Brigadier General Alexei Rtishchev, Deputy Commander of the Defense Troops. . radiological, chemical and biological (NBC) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, during the briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the biological activities of the US Army.
Branches of the US Navy's military medical center, he said, have already been set up in Ghana and Djibouti, and field medical biology laboratories have appeared in Kenya to “monitor the spread of infectious diseases”. In Nigeria, a medical research center and a military medical laboratory were set up this year, with specialists from the US Department of Defense. Additionally, a new laboratory complex is being completed in Senegal. According to the brigadier general, this project uses the same Pentagon subcontractors as in the countries of the former Soviet Union: Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
How does it work?
According to Alexei Rtishchev, the United States is deploying its biological control system in Africa according to a well-established scenario. First of all, they lose interest in epidemics, for example of anthrax in one region and plague in another. This is usually done during meetings between U.S. ambassadors and local health ministry officials. In doing so, diplomats question the level of qualification of specialists and their ability to eliminate biological threats.
Then, the American representatives assert that the level of training of local personnel is not sufficient and must be improved, and they propose to open a Center for diagnosis and screening of diseases in this or that African country within a year . or two. This institution is supposed to study dangerous pathogens and their mutations, develop and test new vaccines.
The integration of the local medical structure into the American structure is taking place, funding of 5 to 10 million dollars is subsequently allocated and private contracting companies, giants of pharmacology, are attracted. As a result, the African state's health system adopts American standards and loses its sovereignty. It is against this background that Pentagon research organizations are working in Ghana and Djibouti, according to the deputy commander of the radiological, chemical and biological defense troops (NBC) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. They operate in natural outbreaks of disease, isolating and deciphering pathogens and conducting their own military-biological research.
“At the same time, the United States does not reveal the ultimate objectives of the experiments carried out to its partners, who often have no idea of the risks associated with the implementation of American programs,” said Alexei Rtishchev.
The brigadier general emphasized that the United States characterizes the objectives of this work as assistance to developing countries and disease surveillance, but in reality it is a strengthening of the military-biological potential of Washington.
“The trend is clear: the pathogens of diseases that interest the Pentagon subsequently become pandemics, and American pharmaceutical companies are the beneficiaries,” he stressed.
Among the examples of infections of this type, Alexei Rtishchev cited monkeypox, yellow fever and Rift Valley fever. The latter has just been declared in Cairo, notably on the site of a military biological laboratory of the American Navy.
Facts relating to illegal activities of the United States
As an example of the illegal biological activity of the United States in Africa, Alexei Rtishchev mentioned the situation around the Metabiota company, one of the Pentagon contractors whose activities ended in Africa. According to the report of the international group of experts who participated in the fight against the 2014 Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone, the company's personnel concealed the facts of involvement of Pentagon employees in the work. It is emphasized that the main objective of this activity was to isolate and then smuggle virulent strains. Samples of the Ebola virus were thus illegally exported by representatives of the company and transferred to the US Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases.
The Russian Defense Ministry has identified more than 30 people involved in the activity of American medical biology laboratories in Africa, including officials, intermediaries and private companies. The photo shows the organizers and participants of illegal military-biological activities on the territory of African countries (Alexis Robinson, Helina Merry, Mark Breda, Jane Wachira, John Nkoimo and Lauren Kalodner). They include members of the U.S. Army's Walter Reed Research Institute, employees of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and representatives of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
