The Saudi National Center for Environmental Compliance has just announced that it will launch, next March, a project to monitor environmental environments using satellite remote sensing technologies.
This initiative aims to improve the monitoring and protection of water, soil and air, assess the impact of human activities and climate change, as well as provide a framework for future management plans and environmental policies, the center said, noting that it is also about identifying areas requiring intervention or appropriate protection measures.

The project will thus contribute to the collection and processing of data on pollution, which will help the authorities to make more informed decisions in terms of environmental protection, indicated the general director of the department of modeling and analysis of environmental data, Mohamed Daghreiri.
He specified that emphasis will also be placed on providing information to scientists and research centers on environmental changes, to support efforts in prevention and early warning of environmental disasters such as dust storms and oil spills.
The data collected will also make it possible to monitor changes in vegetation and water, the distribution of ecosystems, as well as measure emissions of carbon dioxide and other air pollutants, he said. continued.
