A tragedy still unexplained. A 20-year-old young man from the United Kingdom was found dead this Friday in a hotel in Antalya (Türkiye). His body was discovered in the early morning, around 7 a.m., at the bottom of the elevator shaft of the establishment, reports The Guardian.
The victim was vacationing with his family in this hotel via the tour operator Tui when the tragedy occurred. The young man's uncle was informed by telephone. “Paramedics came to his aid but unfortunately they were unable to resuscitate him,” he told Guardian. He was pronounced dead at the scene. »
A fundraiser launched to help the family
The bereaved family benefited from the support of the tour operator and the British consulate in Antalya. Those close to the young man are now calling for a “careful investigation” to identify the circumstances in which the tragedy occurred. The body of the deceased could be repatriated to the United Kingdom this Tuesday.
The uncle launched an online fundraiser to help his loved ones finance the funeral. On the Go Fund Me page, he describes the victim as “a young man full of personality, kindness and compassion, with his whole life ahead of him”. More than 5,400 pounds (6,500 euros) have already been collected in just a few days.
