A couple in police custody for 70 hours because of… Kaaris! “I saw some guys looking at me strangely, I didn’t really calculate”

The lyrics of the title “Rafaler” which emanate from the car panic the Israeli restaurant. But the driver of the car doesn’t really realize it. “I saw guys looking at me strangely. I didn’t calculate too much, I mapped out my route”, the man tells our colleagues from Le Parisien. But the next day, a surprise visit will take the couple straight to the police station.

On the road, the police appear before the couple who will be taken into custody. The driver and his partner, the owner of the vehicle who will be arrested at her home, will be sent to the police station where they will spend no less than 70 hours. The reason for this arrest: “Criminal association with a view to committing a crime. The driver then explains that the police are questioning him on very specific subjects. “They asked me lots of questions about the Muslim religion.”

A complaint should be filed

For the couple, this affair is beyond comprehension. “It’s a bar that belongs to the Jewish community… People would have heard me say that I was going to be drunk, that there were three of us in the car, that I was in a gray djellaba.” says the driver who was dressed in a black hooded sweater with a khaki green parka.

Fortunately for the couple, “the geolocation of our phones and the video surveillance of a neighboring bar allowed us to be exonerated”, they say. After the police custody which lasted no less than 70 hours, the couple will be released, without any explanation. “No element of any offense is characterized” according to the prosecution. The two now wish to file a complaint for slanderous denunciation and initiate proceedings to “dysfunction of the public service of justice”specifies The Parisian.
