They are up to 500 times stronger than morphine, and potentially more dangerous than fentanyl in the United States: nitazenes are a family of powerful synthetic opioids that have come into the crosshairs of the authorities due to their increasing circulation in North America (Canada, United States), but also in Europe. In a report published on Wednesday, June 26, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) points out a “increase in overdose deaths” linked to these substances in high-income countries. A pharmacological power
In this family of ultra-potent drugs, isotonitazene is 250 times stronger than heroin and 500 times stronger than morphine.
