He calls the police to report an intrusion at his home, she has the wrong target and it's a tragedy

The events took place last Tuesday, November 12 in Los Angeles. Brandon Durham, a 43-year-old father, called the emergency number 911. He then reported an attempted intrusion into his home. Accompanied by his 15-year-old daughter, the man took refuge in the bathroom while waiting for help to arrive.

Questioned by our colleagues from Peoplethe sheriff then indicated that three police officers then arrived on the scene and actually observed “damage” at the windows of the house. Once back, they would have heard “coups” and “cris” coming from two people, a man and a woman, in the process of “fighting over a knife”.

Investigator fires several shots at man's body

If one of the police officers ordered the two people to drop the weapon, the investigator then shot Brandon Durham, before shooting his motionless and inert body several times. The police tried to resuscitate him. But the father died as a result of his injuries. As for the other person, a woman, she was arrested and taken into police custody for “trespassing with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, child abuse, child endangerment, and committing an act with willful disregard.”

Faced with this tragedy, which therefore cost the life of this father, the police reacted. “The loss of life in an incident of this type is always tragic and is something we take very seriously,” Sheriff Dori Koren said. He revealed that according to initial findings, the victim and the woman who was arrested knew each other.

“He was not the suspect in this situation, he was the victim!”

But for the victim's loved ones, the pain is immense. “The violence that took place was committed by someone who was extremely angry and extremely violent”. Very painful words.
“And I am disgusted by the way the Metropolitan Police told my father, after they killed him, to stay down. Knowing that he was not the suspect in this situation, he was the victim! I am disgusted that the Metropolitan Police are forcing me to live without a father for the rest of my life.”

For the victim's partner, things are simple:
the policeman, white, attacked his companion, black.Brandon was a loving and dedicated family man who worked hard to provide a stable and happy life for his family. His sudden death created an unimaginable void in their lives, made worse by the circumstances of his death.”
