Negotiations continue for the formation of the new government. Although the Prime Minister has already met with the Presidential Council to discuss the composition of the government, the task is proving more complex than expected. Indeed, presidential advisers seek to take control of ministries, including sovereign ministries.
Port-au-Prince, November 13, 2024 – The Presidential Transitional Council seems to want to monopolize everything. If, in the past, things were left in the hands of Prime Minister Garry Conille, this time, the Presidential Council intends to control the sovereign ministries.
According to the information obtained, the battle for key ministries is already on. The ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Finance and the Interior are at the heart of the discussions.
Unlike the outgoing government, that of Alix Didier Fils Aimé should be made up of 18 ministries. According to Vant Bèf Info (VBI) sources, several members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) are seeking to obtain at least two ministries each. This situation considerably complicates the negotiations, while the formation of the government should be finalized by this weekend.
