Burkina Faso celebrated its World Blood Donor Day on June 14, a respected tradition with the participation of the President of the transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in a blood drive at the Koulouba Palace.

On this occasion, the Head of State underlined the vital importance of this altruistic gesture. He questioned who wouldn’t be proud to know that their blood helped save a life. In anticipation of the rainy season, which is conducive to malaria diseases, he urged his fellow citizens to show their solidarity by regularly donating blood to save lives.

The Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso, Zakaria SORE, described this collection as tangible proof of active solidarity, specifying that donating blood is a commitment to help those in need, particularly in times of high demand.

He stressed that this initiative by the Presidency of Faso shows the commitment of the highest authorities to supporting vulnerable people during periods of malaria. Jean Bosco ZOUNDI, president of the “SOS sang” association, praised the example given by the Head of State.

Dr Désiré NEZIEN, director general of the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), declared that the blood bags collected will be a crucial contribution to his center.
