Squeezie, second most followed YouTuber in France (19 million subscribers), warned against “a drastic rise of the far right“and called”the young people who follow (him)” to vote in the legislative elections, in a message on Instagram this Friday.
“Go vote on June 30 and July 7, and keep in mind that voting for a party that advocates hatred, discrimination, and fear of others has never been a solution.“, wrote Squeezie to his approximately 8.7 million subscribers on Instagram.
The content creator, generally very discreet about his political ideas, wanted to send a “open letter” has “All the kids” who follow him. He writes, among some elements of context: “In France we are witnessing a drastic rise of the far right. This movement has unfortunately been trivialized while history, even recent history, has already shown us the dangers and serious consequences of the arrival of an extreme right party in power. So yes, in recent years, the RN has managed to smooth out its image (…) but rather than taking their word for it, let’s look at the reality of their actions!“
He then takes several examples of positions taken by the National Rally which he considers to go against the values that the party advocates. “The RN is for gender equality: so why did they vote against reducing the pay gap between men and women within the EU?“, he says, among other things.
