Every day when you go to work, it’s the same thing. You feel guilty about leaving your dog alone while he looks at you with his sad eyes and follows you everywhere. Some people also decide to install connected cameras in their home to be able to observe their dog remotely and talk to them if necessary. But what does your dog really think when you leave?
What a dog thinks when his owner leaves him alone
Adrienne Carson, vice president at St Hubert’s Animal Welfare, explained that although dogs are sensitive to the fact that their owner is leaving, they associate the event with a positive emotion.
“Fortunately, dogs adapt well to their owners’ routines. When you leave for work, they may be sad at first, but then they will do their little dog life: sleeping, chewing toys or listening to noises while you are away,” explains the expert.
