One of them asks voters on behalf of the FBI to “vote remotely” due to terrorist threats at polling stations, which the federal agency completely denies.
“This video is not authentic and does not represent the current threat situation or security around polling stations,” the FBI said in a statement.
Another video features a fabricated FBI statement alleging that inmates at five prisons in key states colluded with one party.
“This video is not authentic and its content is false,” says the FBI.
“Maintaining the integrity of this election is among our highest priorities and we are working with local authorities to respond to these threats so that Americans can exercise their right to vote,” it added.
The FBI reiterates that attempts to mislead the public by using the FBI’s name jeopardize the electoral process and Americans’ trust in it.
He also invites the population to report any suspicious activity surrounding the elections.
