The LFI (La Insoumise) group denounced, Tuesday at a press conference, the way in which Benyamin Netanyahu reacted after French President Emmanuel Macron’s opposition to the sale of arms to Israel.

“We do not accept that a head of state, in this case Mr. Netanyahu, can speak in this way to the President of the French Republic,” declared the president of the left parliamentary group, Mathilde Panot.

And continued: “We do not understand why the Quai d’Orsay did not summon the Israeli ambassador, which is the case when comments of this kind are made.”

The MP underlines, moreover, that “the credibility of France is committed, beyond words, by the actions it must take”, in particular concerning the recognition of the State of Palestine, of which Emmanuel Macron assured that she “was not a taboo”.

As a reminder, in a video broadcast on Saturday on the social network weapons to Israel.

“Shame on Macron and the leaders who follow him for imposing an embargo on the sale of arms to Israel,” he said.

He was reacting to statements made a few hours earlier by the French president who considers that we must stop “delivering weapons to carry out the fighting in Gaza”.

“I think that those who supply (them) cannot call every day alongside us for a ceasefire and continue to supply them,” Emmanuel Macron pleaded from the summit of the Francophonie.

The still provisional toll of the war waged by Israel against the Gaza Strip rose this Tuesday to more than 41,000 dead and thousands injured.
