New disturbing elements in the investigation into the death of the 3 surfers thrown into a well

The murders of Jack Rhoad, Callum and Jake Robinson are particularly shocking. The three surfers were shot in the head and thrown into a well in Mexico. And the motive for this crime seems even more revolting.

One of the three main suspects in the disappearance of Jack Rhoad, Callum and Jake Robinson has confessed and the details are chilling. The young woman said that her boyfriend, nicknamed “El Kekas”, returned home on April 27 and explained to her that he had “done something to three ‘gringos'” (the nickname given to Americans by Latinos).

She would then have asked him for more details and El Kekas would have admitted to her: “I killed them”. The young man then allegedly showed him that he had equipped his car with new tires, according to the report made by prosecutors. A detail which supports the investigators’ thesis according to which Jack Rhoad, Callum and Jake Robinson were killed for having tried to prevent the theft of the tires of their rental vehicle at their camp.

The accused further claimed that her boyfriend handed her a cell phone and said, “Look what I bought you.” But police have since determined that it was the victims’ stolen phone that allowed them to trace the three suspects.

Tooth fragments found

During a preliminary hearing which took place this Thursday, May 9 in the morning, the prosecutors also highlighted having found “bloodstains and traces of dragging, in the place where camped” the three surfers, as well as “fragments of teeth”. They further indicated that El Kekas stole cash and electronic devices belonging to Jack Rhoad, Callum and Jake Robinson.

Questions remain, however, as to how this short man could have moved the bodies of these three tall men approximately 6 kilometers from the crime scene and dumped them at the bottom of the well in which their bodies were discovered. Some investigators are therefore wondering whether Mexican cartels or a gang of criminals might be involved.

However, the judge presiding over the case told the court that the three victims were vulnerable because the Australians and the American were “in a remote part of a foreign country that they did not speak about.” language and had no phone reception or social support.”

El Kekas’ hearing has been set for November 2024. In the meantime, he has been remanded in custody.

A shocking crime

A young doctor, Jake Robinson, 33, went to the United States at the end of April to join his little brother Callum, 30, a professional lacrosse player, who had been living in California for several years to pursue his sporting career. The two brothers had visited the Coachella music festival before flying to Mexico with their American friend Jack Rhoad – who was about to get married – to go surfing in Ensenada. A well-known surf spot, but plagued by drug trafficking. The trio were unfortunately each shot in the head and all three were thrown into the bottom of a well. Their bodies were found there on May 4 after long days of anguish and vain hopes.
