These European cities have the most pickpockets

When we book our vacation, we often find out about the destination before leaving: activities to do there, local culture, cuisine, and safety. It is precisely this point that interests us. We generally know that as a tourist, you have to be particularly careful when walking around: pickpockets in fact target tourists more often.

Where are there the most pickpockets?

Quotezone, an insurance comparison site, has compiled a list of countries where tourists are most affected by pickpocket thefts.

Unsurprisingly, it is the most touristy countries that are most affected by thefts. It is also Italy which comes in first position with 463 reports of theft per million visitors. In Rome, the most affected places are the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain. In Milan the Duomo di Milano, and in Florence, the Uffizi Museum.

France is number 2 with 283 reports of theft per million visitors. The places most popular with pickpockets are obviously the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame de Paris and the Louvre Museum.
