VSn Monday, Republican elected official Kristi Noem called for the killing of Joe Biden’s German shepherd. The governor of South Dakota, in the north of the United States, estimated that Commander, the Biden couple’s German shepherd, should experience a fate identical to that reserved for her own canine, for having bitten several agents of the protection service of the president.

The 52-year-old is seen as a potential running mate of Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election.

“Disturbing” comments

“We consider his comments yesterday to be disturbing, we consider them absurd,” the White House spokeswoman said at the daily press conference.

“It’s a country that loves dogs, and you have a leader here who talks about killing dogs,” added Karine Jean-Pierre.

Kristi Noem “should probably stop sinking in on her own,” the spokesperson also commented.

A governor who killed her dog

In her upcoming memoir, obtained by the British daily The Guardian, the Republican governor writes that she shot and killed her dog Cricket, aged around 14 months, because she was “untamable”.

On Sunday, in an interview with CBS News, she said that if she wins alongside Trump in the November presidential election, she will ensure that “Commander joins Cricket”.

“How many people have to be attacked and dangerously injured before you make a decision about a dog? ”, she asked.

The Biden couple was forced in October to put their two-year-old German shepherd on green training because of his propensity to bite.

Major, another of the Bidens’ German shepherds, also gnawed unexpectedly upon his arrival at the White House. He had been entrusted to friends living “in a calmer environment”.
