The European Union’s (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, will convene an extraordinary informal meeting of the bloc’s foreign ministers on Monday to discuss the situation in Lebanon, an EU spokesperson said. EU.

Traveling to Beirut, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, also announced the release of emergency humanitarian aid of 10 million euros to support the action of humanitarian organizations , including the Lebanese Red Cross, announced its ministry in a press release.

“Faced with the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, stands alongside Lebanon and remains committed to the protection of civilians and the security of its nationals,” the statement added.

Jean-Noël Barrot also handed over 12 tonnes of medicines and medical equipment, transported by plane by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, to the Lebanese Minister of Health on Sunday evening.
