Wednesday January 22, 2025: day of mobilization at Paulstra, a subsidiary of Hutchinson, a French company in the chemicals branch of the Total Énergies Group, in Étrépagny, in Eure. A company that currently has 323 employees and specialized in the assembly of parts aimed at reducing vibrations in industry, railways and aeronautics.
Via a movement of strike, unions and employees demonstrated their discontent from 8 a.m. to midnight a few meters from the entrance to the company.
Increases at the heart of anger
At the heart of their demands : the obligatory annual negotiations (NAO) which determine in particular the augmentations for the year that has just begun.
The guidelines were released on Monday January 13 during the first NAO meeting.
“The account is not there and really not at all”, proclaim in unison Laurent Legoix and Dominique Dupupet, respectively elected CGT and CFDT union delegate.
“Indeed, the Étrépagny site shows profits of 75 million euros for the year 2024 and we are offered a 0.8% general increase, 0.2% for the individual increase and 0.2%. for that linked to seniority. It is ashamedand lamentable,” says Laurent Legoix.
For her part, Dominique Dupupet bitterly regrets that the unions cannot negotiate with decision-makers, the CEO of Hutchinson group Hélène Moreau-Leroy, in person.
-“Our current interlocutors tell us that they hear our demands but they are not the decision-makers. That way, we won't move forward. »
Friday, the union delegate will go to Orléans for a second phase of negotiations.
Union demands
The opportunity to voice the CFDT's grievances: + 3% general increase, + 2% for the individual increase, a bonus for sharing the value distributed equally of 3,000 euros, an increase in the bonus for seniority of 18 years of presence instead of 15 years today, increase in prime vacation of 50 euros to reach 450 euros.
For its part, the CGT lists its demands: general increase of 150 euros, negotiation at the headquarters with Hutchinson Balzac headquarters, uncapping of the seniority bonus beyond 15 years, conclusion of a “real” accord end of career, allocation of a budget for local measures, equal distribution of the amount of participation without distinction of salaries, among others.
“In this story, there is one positive thing: employees are able to mobilize to make their voices heard. »
Thus, on Wednesday, at the height of the mobilization, around a hundred trade unionistsand employees were mobilized in the morning.
Depending on the evolution of the situation and the demands of employees, the strike could continue from this Thursday (editor's note, at the time of publishing the article, the continuation of the strike had not been confirmed), but in another form. In a two-hour cycle, morning, noon and evening.
