The inhabitants of the town came in large numbers for the traditional wish ceremony, after several years of interruption. The evening began with a magic show offered at the offices of local entertainment associations. It was in the presence of Jean-Claude Saleil, president of the community of communes and all the delegated mayors that Jean-Paul Pourquier, mayor and first vice-president of the department, presented his wishes to the population. He highlighted elected officials for their loyalty, solidarity, fidelity and commitment without forgetting the municipal agents (technical, administrative, entertainment and school staff) who participate in the development of the territory.
Flagship projects
The mayor presented some flagship projects, with the rehabilitation of an agricultural wasteland into a multi-purpose hall and covered bowling alley, the installation of a photovoltaic power plant on the ground on the Inos site (under study), the modification of the configuration of the premises within the medical center which made it possible to accommodate a multidisciplinary team including a dentist, doctor, etc., the creation of a motorhome area at Massegros, the interpretation trail at Les Vignes, the repair and securing the sidewalks in Les Vignes, the rehabilitation of the Saint-Privat church and the presbytery, the covered educational swimming pool open all year round in Massegros.
Numerous efforts to secure and maintain roads and enhance built heritage will be continued.
Jean-Paul Pourquier thanked the associations which offer diverse and varied activities which promote the dynamism and vitality of the municipality.
Jean-Claude Saleil, president of the community of communes, greeted the participants with his best wishes, recalling that numerous achievements support the economic development of this sector with the rehabilitation of the Laundry, which will ultimately have a workforce of fifteen employees, the Tieule activity zone where numerous contacts have been made and the implementation of the new on-demand transport formula…
