Around 1.4 billion tourists took a trip abroad last year, according to an estimate released Monday by UN Tourism.

Around 1.4 billion tourists took a trip abroad last year, a figure identical to the pre-pandemic level, according to an estimate published Monday by UN Tourism, which notably shows a strong recovery sector in Asia.

According to this UN agency based in Madrid, the number of international tourist trips exceeded by 11% that of 2023 (1.3 billion) and rose to the level of 2019, the last year before the Covid-19 pandemic and date of previous record.
