the essential
For their third men's Nationale 3 match in their gymnasium, the Tarasco-fuxéens of the TFVB dominated 3 sets to 2 after a suspenseful match. The Ariégeois remain undefeated in their famous cauldron.

TFVB 3 – AVIGNON VB II 1 (25-22 ; 17-25 ; 26-24 ; 25-22).

The meeting begins at a brisk pace. The two formations are in place and are going blow for blow. If Tarascon Foix volley-nall (TFVB) is often in front, we have to wait 18-15 to see a significant gap on an attack from Thomas Buissyne. The premises are applied. Bouville, then Doda “rush” in defense, and the Tarasco-Fuxéens make the difference (21-17 then 22-18). The visitors do not give up. On serve, helped by a block from Logote, Delanghe brings his team to 22-22! An attack from Baptiste Bru and a block from Costis offer a first set point to the Greens and Whites. Returning to conclude, Bru shines and the TFVB finishes the “job” (25-22).
From the start of the second round, a passing from Bouville on a huge attack from Chamrouk puts the locals in orbit (5-1). Like the first set, Avignon doesn't give up. Two direct errors, Grosdidier then Buissyne, and here they are again on the heels of the Tarasconnais (6-5). Not very honest about a refereeing error, while in the previous set Pottier had given a point in the money time, the Vauclusiens in turn escaped (8-11; 10-15). This twist of fate and the notable relaxation of the Ariégeois were paid in cash by Chabrel's men. Baptiste Bru misses his first serve, imitated by Grosdidier, after Pottier does the same, the locals are in trouble. They don't lower their heads, however, and fight for every ball. Avignon is successful. Everything smiles on the players of coach Senmartin (12-18). At 15-19 on an attack from Bru, the cauldron believes it. But Logote turns off the sound with a powerful fixed shot (18-21). Despite good resistance, the Tarasconnais lost 17-25. Everything has to be redone. The multiplication of mistakes on the Ariège side cost them the round. Avignon was cleaner, relying on its two central players who would be envious in the 2nd line at US Tarascon XV or US Foix.

The Ariège block was up to the task.

An intense fight won by the Ariégeois

The TFVB returns to battle. Chabrel adjusted the sights. Defenses and blocks take over attacks. In this game, local libero Bouville delights the audience. Two goals from Costis give the Tarasco-Fuxéens some breathing space for a short time (10-8). Avignon is picking up (11-11). The tension is palpable, the level of the game has dropped. A brilliant move from Pottier puts the TFVB in front, 14-13 then 15-16. Did you say suspense? Doda brings his team back (17-17) but Grosdidier misses, again, his serve (18-18). It's hot (22-22). The locals are fishing for service. At 23-23, and Doda explodes the block imitated by Chambrouk opposite (25-24). Pottier then goes there with a gesture from elsewhere, the cauldron explodes (26-24). The match loses intensity. This is quite normal given the investment of all the players for more than 1h30. Faults follow direct errors. 12-9 for the locals who manage without really dominating. After three consecutive faults, they gave the visitors the right to believe (13-12). Costis puts the TFVB back in the center of the village (16-13). And again, Avignon is nibbling with the young Delanghe in the service. Grosdidier plays his hands well. 18-16, then 18-17 on an ace from Achouri. A trick from Doda gives the locals a 3-point lead (20-17). Régis Bru's sax heats the cauldron. Grosdidier then Bru make the wrong choices, Avignon comes back (22-20). Bru redeems himself and scores the 23rd point (23-21). Costis takes his responsibilities in the center and offers his team a first match point. The visiting coach requests a third timeout and is not sanctioned. But, behind, Purpan's outside serve gives the match to the exciting TFVBistes (25-22).
This Tarascon team has a soul, and the coaching of “Papa Chab” has nothing to do with it. The TFVB is well established at the top of the ranking of its National 3 group.
