A world beyond F1
Four world titles won in his career in Formula 1 do not seem to be enough to quench his hunger for success Max Verstappen. The Dutchman from Red Bull, interviewed by his sponsor Heineken during a promotional video, also spoke about those who are plans for post-F1.
The Dutch phenomenon's passion for endurance racing is absolutely well known. In this chat, however, Hasselt's #1 specifically detailed his future plans, hinting that he wanted them focus more on some individual races than on the championships themselves, such as the WEC or IMSA.
In endurance to win
“After F1 I absolutely want to do endurance racing, all 24 hours and the most important races“, clarified Verstappen. However, as has always been the spirit of champions, simply participating is not an option for Max: “Of course I want to enjoy them, but when I participate I want to win. So I wouldn't do these races just for fun, I want to try to win“.
It is plausible to imagine that the 24 hours to which Verstappen refers are those of Daytona, Spa and Nurburgring, as well as obviously Le Mans. In the history of motorsport only five drivers have won one or more F1 titles and one or more successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans: Mike Hawthorn, Phil Hill, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt and Fernando Alonso. Verstappen is currently under contract with Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season.
