CVB 52 has a new location: the former Haut-du-Val high school

volleyball 52 (CVB 52) and the city signed an agreement to provide premises on Monday October 7. It is located in the former Haut-du-Val high school, a building abandoned for three years.

There is something new at Chaumont volleyball 52 Haute- (CVB 52), not in terms of the transfer window, nor in terms of results, but more in terms of its infrastructure. Since Monday October 7, CVB 52 has had new premises, thanks to the signing of an agreement with the town of Chaumont. Located at 9, rue Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry, this infrastructure was in the past the Haut-du-Val high school. Unoccupied for three years, this building, which the city owns, is now made available free of charge to the Chaumontais club, for a period of three years, and who knows perhaps more…

“It had become cramped for all of you at the office level in Palestra,” declared Christine Guillemy, mayor of Chaumont. She continues: “When we talk about the CVB, everyone is ready to get involved.”

In total, the premises consist of a pavilion for administrative offices, a garage for storage and a reception. In one of the buildings, it is planned to offer a point of sale for CVB 52 jerseys and goodies, so that everyone can own a jersey from their favorite team.

Official key handover

The president of the volleyball club, Bruno Soirfeck, is delighted: “It was an opportunity to find a building close to Palestra and which is free. This will be a place of passage for supporters and volunteers. “It’s a further step in the professionalization of the club.”

This provision by the city is part of the multi-annual plan for sports infrastructures (PPI sport), put in place in 2021. “The objective is to update all the infrastructures with minor works and construction sites of scale,” explains the City. The premises were the subject of carpentry, locksmithing and plumbing work by city officials. The club will manage the painting and interior decoration work.

Ultimately, this place must become a sports center to accommodate “the Boxing club, taekwondo, triathlon and the bowling alley”, says the mayor. These associations do not currently have fixed premises. They must most often find temporary, but not lasting, solutions. In total, Chaumont has nearly 12,000 members and around a hundred sports associations in the region. The Haut-du-Val district changes its face and becomes over the years an important axis of sport in Chaumont.
