In our previous edition from January 8 to 14, we had talked about the operations set up by certain municipalities of the Landes, Girondin and Charentais coast which combined the recovery of Christmas trees and dune fixing. The idea, at the initiative of the Capbretonnaise town, has been emulated and seduces more and more. For this 9ᵉ edition of the operation A tree for our Dunes, the conifers were collected via collection points installed everywhere: from Capbreton via Benesse-Marenne, Tyrosse, Hossegor, but also with the participation of the Grand Agglo, that of Mont-de-Marsan . In the end, 3000 fir trees were deposited on the dune of Santocha in order to constitute a natural barrier where the sands and sediments will be agglutinating under the effect of the wind. The purpose of this plant cover is to stabilize the sand whose accretion is encouraged while promoting, subsequently, the development of the dune flora. This Saturday, January 18, the human channel worked perfectly. Now remains in the shrubs to do their job as a shield. And to comfort and warm up, all of them found themselves, elected as volunteers, citizens of the Dune and agents of the city's technical services, around a shared snack offered by ACCA. A great eco-citizen operation and a gesture for the environment in which a hundred volunteers participated in the aegis of the National Forest Office as well as the students of the Lycée Villa Pia de and all the people committed for the Preservation of our coast.
