Originally from Saint-Père-en-Retz (Loire-Atlantique), Cécile, her companion Mathieu and their two sons, took to the road in August 2024 to a tour of Europe at the wheel of an old converted coach. But it’s been five months since they broke down Guichen (Ille-et-Vilaine). They recounted their ordeal on TF1 and BFMTV.
Their trip turns into a nightmare in Ille-et-Vilaine, they appear on TF1 and BFMTV
The family had the idea a year ago and decided to sell their house to buy an old bus for €56,000. Their goal: to go on a road trip across Europe, with their two children aged 12 and 8 and a half, as well as their pets. A journey which, on paper, looked incredible.
They have been at a standstill for five months
So it was on August 4, 2024 that they hit the road for 18 months of travel. But their route came to an end after 80 km and four days of travel, at a campervan area, in the village of Pont Réan, between Guichen and Bruz, on the banks of the Vilaine.
-So they have been broken down for five months and living at a standstill in the old school bus.
Their story in the media
While they have initiated long and complicated legal proceedings against the seller, Cécile and Mathieu continue to share their story on social networks. Every day, the mother posts photos and videos to recount their adventures and the progress of the situation.
They were also approached by television. They notably appeared on BFMTV, in the 1 p.m. news on TF1 and in the show Touche pas à mon poste on C8. Without forgetting radio appearances as well.
