It’s an absence that is starting to be felt by viewers of Telematinaccustomed to spending their weekends in the company of Damien Thévenot and Maya Lauqué. If the first named is still at the helm of the France Télévisions morning show, his co-host has not appeared on the air for several weekends now. The 45-year-old journalist, who takes over from Julien Arnaud and Flavie Flament from Friday to Sunday, is very popular with followers of the show, which she has presented since 2021.
After having animated The Daily on France 5 from 2013 to 2021, Maya Lauqué arrived on France 2 and wakes up the French on weekends alongside Damien Thévenot. Originally from Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), the pretty blonde, mother of two children, Lucien (9 years old) and Jeanne (6 years old) with bassist Cyril Denis, lives in an atypical apartment in Paris with her family. “The interior is distributed around an entrance and four large rooms. It is a place of character with a soul: there are even still some wall paintings and certain decorative elements. (…) All our cabinets, shelves… have been found at garage sales in Paris or in the provinces when we go away for the weekend. My darling even collected furniture from the street. What I like is learning the family history behind each object”explained the journalist to House side a few years ago.
Maya Lauqué bedridden with the flu, she announces her return
-An apartment in which Maya Lauqué feels good and where she has spent the last few weeks if we are to believe her words. Following his notable absence from the airwaves, an Internet user sent him a message to ask for news on X (formerly Twitter). “Hello Maya, we miss you Telematin even if Lucie (Chaumette) ensures, it’s not the same without you”she writes. A kind message to which the journalist electrocuted live on TV last year wanted to respond to say more about her state of health. “Oh thank you, that’s nice. I had the flu and I’m going on a few vacations”she confides, before giving the date of her return to France Télévisions: “Resuming on January 27 at 1 p.m.! See you soon.”
Sick, like thousands of French people currently, Maya Lauqué is suffering from a bad flu which has prevented her from working, but her fans rest assured, she will be back in 10 days, refreshed like never before after a well-deserved vacation!
