Philippe Etchebest facing candidates with a “more than complicated” situation
From the pre-credits of the episode (already available on M6+), Internet users discovered that “for the first time in Nightmare in the Kitchen, an unexpected event disrupted the evening“. While he was in the middle of a discussion with Stéphanie, Philippe Etchebest and the candidate heard a sound of breaking dishes coming from the kitchen. Very quickly, the 58-year-old chef came running. “We’re going to call the firefighters“, we can then hear him say, while images of a fire truck were broadcast.
The episode then begins. The opportunity to discover that they took over their restaurant seven months ago. “This restaurant was my dream“, confided Julien, who is manager and cook of the establishment. But the situation was complicated, because the number of seats has never been so low. Financially, it is therefore “more than complicated“. Stress for the couple.”I put enormous pressure on myself. (…) I’m afraid of losing everything“, confided the candidate, in tears.
So that the situation does not get further bogged down, Stéphanie and Julien called on Philippe Etchebest. But the chef did not expect to face an alarming situation. Stressed, Julien made a series of blunders and therefore had even more pressure. “I’m very anxious. And I feel like I’m really starting to lose my footing. There’s something wrong. (…) I’m still on these good ones, while the good ones keep coming“, he declares.
Julien feels unwell due to strong pressure
Although he did everything to not give up despite his difficulties, he quickly allowed himself to be overwhelmed by his numerous orders. We then discover that he has been unwell. Very quickly, Stéphanie and Philippe Etchebest ran to help him. Side safety position, cold water… they did everything to make it in the best condition before the firefighters arrived. “Given Julien’s condition, with my team, we decided to stop everything and call emergency services“, specifies the voice-over.
We can then discover them with the firefighters. While Julien, who had regained his senses a little and was sitting outside, was being taken care of, Philippe Etchebest told a rescuer: “I didn’t have time to turn around. He was shaky. He was weird. In my opinion, he fell clean.“Then the voiceover clarifies:”Julien was examined by the firefighters. It seems he had vagal discomfort. So the service ends there.”
After taking a rest, Julien found Philippe Etchebest who wanted to understand the reasons for this physical exhaustion.
