EXCLUDED “I was only crying…”: Delphine Wespiser put to the test against the rest of the team in The Island

Since her crowning of Miss in 2012, Delphine Wespiser has come a long way! Today she is an essential personality on the small screen, having participated in various shows. The beautiful brunette continues her good momentum at the start of 2025 and appears in the casting of The Island every Tuesday evening on M6. At the same time, she will be on the air on W9 on Wednesday evenings, in the second half of the evening, to present Temptation Island.

Purepeople.com had the opportunity to speak with the bubbly brunette. At our microphone, she takes stock of her very difficult adventure in The Island – marked by a great lack of food and many crying spells.

You are currently in the casting of The Island. Why did you agree to participate?

Because I love to challenge myself, I love to always go further and I love crazy projects, flamboyant personalities, everything that is colorful and obviously when I was offered to do a survivalism show, which is an incredible project, a crazy project, I really wanted to be part of it!

How was your adventure?

Honestly, I suffered a lot. I was in a good mood the first half day and then, when I realized that there wouldn’t be any mangoes, papayas or bananas in the forest, I told myself that it was going to be difficult. While at the start I said to myself ‘so cool, I’m going to have a week of raw vegetables, I imagined smoothies, fruit puree…’. But not at all actually! In the jungle there it’s as if you were going for a walk in the forest of or Boulogne, there is nothing in fact! No fruit, no vegetables so we barely ate anything except washed up coconuts. I removed the flesh and put it in my little bag to distribute the next day or the day after, except that in fact with the heat, they rotted. With the machete, we removed the mold that was on it and otherwise we grilled the pieces over the fire and it went away. But after five days, rotten/toasted coconuts are still rotten coconuts. And so we stopped and barely ate anything.

You are also a vegetarian and have therefore not eaten any animals.

Yes, after a while, they managed to catch small fish or frogs but me, no, I’m not going to eat that. But it was horrible to see them kill them, I cried. They were all happy to eat it, and I was just crying.

What was the hardest part of your adventure?

It’s interesting because there are profiles like Lucie (Bertaud, editor’s note) who suffered from thirst, that’s what knocked her out. Daniela (Capone, editor’s note) suffered from lack of sleep. Terence (Telle, editor’s note) was more about comfort and hygiene. And I went crazy when I didn’t eat. And little by little, the days progress, we become more and more nervous, at the end of our lives.

Pierre-Ambroise Bosse was my pillar

How was life on the island with the other participants?

I was very happy to be with Nathalie Marquay, we were the twins there and it was very important to have an emotional reference point so as not to feel alone. And we discover that with others, we last longer and we go further. Pierre-Ambroise (Bosse, editor’s note) was also my pillar, he was the one who gave me water when I forgot to drink or who cheered me up. All the time, he was there to push me and move me forward. But otherwise, I got along with everyone.

Julien Cohen in particular appears quite directive from the start. Was it complicated with him?

No, it didn’t bother me but I found it humanly interesting because there are people who establish themselves as leaders and there are people who others proclaim themselves as leaders. What was interesting was that Julien proclaimed himself leader and the mayonnaise didn’t necessarily work. And then, we have a Pierre-Ambroise for example who didn’t ask for anything but who was naturally placed as leader.

What was the first thing you did when you got home?

It’s immediately going to take a shower, washing my clothes, brushing my teeth, putting on perfume… Little things that we don’t realize but when after ten days we smell the forest, a hot shower it’s crazy! There, washing was complicated because there were jellyfish in the sea. So, sometimes we said to ourselves that it was better not to wash. And hey, no toothbrushes… It was really wild!

A new season of Temptation Island “much stronger”

You are also once again expected at the presentation of “Temptation Island”. What can you tell us about this new season?

This new season is going to be incredible and much stronger than last year. It’s a highly anticipated season when we see the enthusiasm on social networks. We are very happy! Everything will go very quickly in this season, sometimes because of misunderstandings or sometimes because of the deep nature of the man or woman.

What do you like about this show?

I like the psychology of the couple, also internal and individual psychology. When we go on this show, it’s not always just to wonder what our other half is going to do, it’s also to find out how we’re going to behave ourselves. We have this little unconscious thing that wants to give in to the tension and that would mean that we weren’t that good as a couple after all. And so we will see that there are a lot of fragilities at different levels and we are able to identify well with these different couples.
