Journalist Richard Therrien from Le Soleil today reveals details about the new series that the author and actress Florence Longpré will soon offer us, after M’hears-tu?, Audrey returned and Le temps des framboises.

For several years, the author has made us experience all the emotions by combining laughter and tears in projects that make our hearts beat. His new proposal, entitled Empathy, will focus on the field of psychiatry, with a view that is always tender, caring and filled with compassion.

This is how we learn that the formidable actor Benoît Brière has landed a role that is, to say the least, disconcerting, that of a psychiatric patient, who discovers the extent of what he has done wrong, after having succeeded in wean himself off the painkillers he was taking in too large quantities.

After the violent pastor he played in Indefensible, the actor still promises to come and jostle us into our living room.

« It’s an incredible gift for an actor to play such a plural character. It’s in my top 3 of the richest roles I’ve had to play », he confided to Richard Therrien of Soleil.

In Empathy, Florence Longpré will play a former criminologist whom the police got rid of, who ends up at the Mont-Royal psychiatric institute. Having become a psychiatrist, she will have ease with theory, but a lot of difficulty with practical application. At his side, we will find the popular French comedian Thomas Ngijol (see his photo here), who will play Mortimer, “ an intervention agent who will help him put his theory into practice », Explains the Sun.

Within the cast, you will also find Pascale Montpetit, Igor Ovadis, Lamia Benhacine, Adrien Bletton, Marie Eve Morency, Geneviève Alarie, Lyraël Dauphin, Josée Deschênes, Linda Malo, Brigitte Lafleur, Jean-François Nadeau, Sofia Blondin, Denis Bernard and Martin-David Peters.

It’s Guillaume Lonergan (Raspberry time) who reconnected with Florence Longpré to carry out the project.

The series will premiere on CRAVE, starting April 10.
