Audiences: “Erica” on TF1 or “Rivages” on France 2, which fictional event won?

This Monday evening, there was a match between TF1 and 2. The two channels launched their two new dramas at the same time. And it was TF1 which took the lead in audiences with the first two episodes of “Erica”, its new detective mini-series in 6 episodes, adapted from the famous novels of Swedish author Camilla Läckberg. The Franco-Swedish production, led by Julie de Bona and Grégory Fitoussi, brought together on average 3,83 millions of viewers. This corresponds to 22,2% of the public present in front of their television. On the target of women responsible for purchasing aged under 50 (FRDA-50), the audience share climbs to 30,2%.

As an indication, the latest fiction event launched by the front page, “Cat’s Eyes”, achieved a very good score of 4.56 million viewers on average on November 11. The first two episodes brought together 24.5% of the public and 39.3% of the FRDA-50.

1 million viewers difference between the two fictions

France 2 is behind with the first two episodes (out of six) of “Rivages”, its new thriller carried by Guillaume Labbé, Fleur Geffrier, Thierry Godard and Jean-Marc Barr. The series, which mixes intrigue and fantasy, captivated an average of 2,84 millions of viewers. 15,2% individuals aged 4 and over and 7,3% FRDA-50s were held in suspense by the unexplained sinking of this trawler and the disappearance of its fishermen. The last time that France 2 tried its hand at this universe mixing science fiction and investigation, it was with “Abysses”, a mini-series with Cécile de France in the title role. The launch of the international co-production attracted an average of 3.04 million viewers (15.6% of the public and 10.5% of the FRDA-50) on June 5, 2023.

France 3 is third with cinema. “An Intimate Conviction”, a film directed by Antoine Raimbault with Marina Foïs and Olivier Gourmet, and released in theaters in 2019, has fascinated 1,39 million of movie buffs. The feature film inspired by real events, which looked back on the appeal trial of Jacques Viguier (Laurent Lucas), accused of the murder of his wife Suzanne Viguier, attracted 7,6% of the public and 1,6% FRDA-50s. Its first free-to-air broadcast, already on France 3 in November 2022, attracted 2.45 million viewers (11.8% of the public and 3.0% of the FRDA-50).

M6 is at the foot of the podium. The channel offered a documentary to commemorate the attacks that occurred in 2015. Presented by Thomas Sotto, who was returning to La Six after leaving it in 2014, the film “Attacks 2015, what binds us”, was of interest 1,27 million of viewers. Directed by Agnès Pizzini and Claire Denavarre, the documentary which notably evokes the reconstruction of the victims and witnesses of these tragedies, moved 6,9% of the public aged 4 and over.
