STAT: never the same again

IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE OF STAT FROM MONDAY, DO NOT READ THIS.

The ax finally fell during Monday’s episode, sounding the death knell for a character very popular with the public, that of Delphine, played by Virginie Ranger-Beauregard, present since the very beginning of the ICI Télé daily.

Coming to rescue Steve, in a state of psychosis, the social worker did not die from injuries, but from a cardiac arrest.

As for Philippe (Patrick Labbé), the deceased’s ex, he is in critical condition and that looks really bad, we said at the very end of the episode. But hey, we’re not close to a miracle in the universe of STAT.

“Marie-Andrée, you didn’t do that,” I said to myself when I saw the episode, provided to journalists earlier. By mowing down one of her main characters, the author Marie-Andrée Labbé undoubtedly wanted to give an electric shock to the St-Vincent team and thus give new impetus to her story.

Not only STAT was becoming boring – there are always a large number of audiences listening every evening – but an author does not want to sit on her laurels. As we did by killing Marc-André Grondin’s character in Reasonable doubt. As Luc Dionne did with Nadine, then Poupou in District 31.

I could only forgive him after watching this week’s four episodes, which were beautifully put together. More than one scene brings tears. Because it’s not over, oh no: the author doesn’t spare us from the rest of the week.

It’s because they have medical knowledge that Delphine’s colleagues agree to treat Steve (Marc Beaupré), the last person they would want to see at the moment. Even though man is in psychosis, he imagines that hackers have seized his “friends”, it is Delphine in question, their relative and their friend.

We almost forgot that Pascal (Normand D’Amour) was fired from his office and that none other than Claude Coupal (Caroline Néron) entered through the front door. All of this will be very exciting to follow in the coming months.

It is in intense moments like these that we measure even more the quality of a production like that of STAT. The entire cast, starting with Suzanne Clément, always delivers great truth.

Nothing will ever be the same again for Emmanuelle (Suzanne Clément). (HERE )

I also highlight the performance of Jean-Nicolas Verreault, whose character completely won us back after a long purgatory. In the role of Delphine’s mother, actress Sandra Dumaresq will make you cry in one of the next episodes.

What will happen to Marc Beaupré, whose character risks ending up in prison, at the very least in a forensic psychiatric institution?

On the TVA side, regulars ofIndefensible also experienced strong emotions with an hour-long episode.

Quite a coincidence that the authors of the two dailies had the idea of putting the destiny of their characters in the hands of a psychotic, in this case special constable Marc Fichaud (Hugo Dubé).

The scene was reminiscent of when Corporal Lortie entered the National Assembly, heavily armed and killing three people.

Clearly, things turn tragic as soon as the firm touches on cases involving organized crime. I will come back to it.
