Last year, the audiovisual regulator (Arcom) decided not to renew the frequencies of NRJ12 and C8. A hard blow for the two groups behind who have since tried to change this decision.
A deadline at the end of February
After a first appeal rejected due to too early a filing, the Council of State has just rejected the summary appeal of the two channels, considering this time that the emergency condition necessary for an interim application was not met according to the 'AFP.
However, the matter will be examined in the coming weeks. The two channels considered that Arcom had demonstrated excess of power in the final decision taken last December.
The authorizations for the two channels will expire on February 28, so there is not much time left before the definitive shutdown. One of the two channels will even be replaced on March 1 by the channel of the CMI France group owned by Daniel Kretinsky. The second channel, which will be that of the Ouest France group, will arrive on September 1st.
Despite appeals, appeals, petitions and job blackmail, the channels have still not won their case and they should therefore disappear at the end of next month.
