We announced it to you yesterday, the special show dedicated to the American army Tribute To The Troops will not take place in 2024. A potentially significant decision since Tribute To The Troops was a concept carried by Vince McMahon, getting rid of it could be one more gesture to definitively close the Vince chapter.
Either way, JBL didn't like this decision. Passing on the podcast Something To Wrestle the Hall of Famer is explained:
“It's been a really cool thing. I know Tribute To The Troops has its detractors and that's okay. Overall, it's one of the best events I've ever been to, and anyone who's been to it part would say the same thing As soon as someone says to me “Would you come and comment on Tribute To The Troops?”, I'm always happy to come and do it.
There is no war going on (for our men) at the moment, so there is no need to come and encourage our guys for Christmas and that was the meaning of this show at the time, but I think it is still important to continue to organize it to show our soldiers that we support them.”
We will see if WWE returns to its tribute to the troops in 2025. A special event which gave us beautiful images and sometimes a very exotic atmosphere compared to the usual arenas:
