The Catalan Ugo Latriche was eliminated from Koh-Lanta, The Cursed Tribe broadcast on TF1 at the gates of the final. The candidate reveals how his adventure unfolded, the third since 2012. And discusses his future projects. Particularly in the Pyrénées-Orientales, a department dear to his adventurer's heart.
In what state of mind did you approach this third Koh Lanta adventure, how was it different from your previous participations?
Everything was different. Each time, it's an adventure in its own right. And then, it wasn't a classic return. For this edition, I arrived as team captain. Just arriving with this cap changes the adventure. This is actually what interested me on paper before returning to it. It's about experiencing something completely different. As a team leader, I would say that this adventure took place more within the collective.
Have your past experiences allowed you to better manage difficulties such as hunger and fatigue?
No way. Each time I let myself be surprised and I take it all in the face. It remains a very complicated adventure. Before I go there, I know I'm going to suffer. I know it mentally but physically, it's hard to prepare for it. Like every time, for this edition, I lost more than 10 kg like every time.
What was your feeling when you were eliminated from the game at the gates of the final?
I felt like I had fought until the end. It's a game that is hypercomplex on every level. Above all, sportingly and socially. I played until the end. Getting eliminated is part of the game and I accept the rules. I have no regrets about this adventure. But afterwards, obviously, I would have preferred to go to the posts.
“We are in a department where you can see dolphins and bears. I love that”
If tomorrow, we call you to participate in the fourth adventure Koh Lantawould you go?
It's very hard to say no to such an extraordinary adventure. My head will tell me to go for it, but my body will ask me to think a little. It's a duel. I will think about it at the moment I think. For now, I'll let the body rest a little. And then, I have lots of other projects in the pipeline.
You were a falconer at the EcoZonia wildlife park, is that still the case?
From now on, I work near Argelès where I do dolphin trips in season. We will observe them offshore. I also work with the ADN nature association with whom we are developing a very beautiful project in the department. We are going to create an exhibition which will deal with the tour of the department that I carried out in 2022. I have always liked the P.-O. I often say, we are in a department where we can see dolphins and bears. I love it.

Other television projects?
What fascinates me is outdoor sports, nature and adventure. I want to share beautiful things, not make TV for nothing. There has to be a message behind it that resonates with me. Making TV for the sake of making TV doesn't interest me.
How do you experience fame?
I try, and I think I'm almost successful, to keep my feet on the ground. It’s something very nice to experience. I only take the good parts. I continue to work, I make my life. Above all, I'm lucky to get good feedback from the people I meet. I hope to take advantage of this spotlight to highlight things that are important to me, such as nature and adventure, which are important values for me.
